cornwall's bays and inlets are regularly visited by dolphins, their arrival being unpredictable and often short but sonically sweet. instead of sound passing through the outer ear to the middle ear, these mammals receive sound through the throat, from which it passes through a low-impedance fat-filled cavity to the inner ear - they send out varying frequency timbres and tones from an organ known as a melon.

"crows an wra" and "nancledra" are based on a text written by the concept horse - it was then algorithmically-translated and read out loud through a voltage controlled 12db/oct state variable filter

recorded in 2023 by marie vermont and the concept horse with a shifting constellation of electronic and acoustic devices
